Dalhousie LaTeX/Beamer Template

My Dalhousie University-themed LaTeX templates, showcases, and useful examples. My hope with this repo is that the showcases here will be interesting for experienced LaTeX users, and the examples will be pedagogically useful for newer LaTeX users and will help kick-start their first few presentations or thesis writing. This GitHub repo contains:

  • thesis_template: A Dalhousie thesis template that adheres to the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) thesis guidelines. It features a compact version of the List of Abbreviations and Symbols, a Biber-style bibliography complete with hyperlinks to papers and automatic backreferences, and an updated class file that works cleanly with TeXLive2025.

  • beamer_slides_template: A Dalhousie beamer slide template and showcase with useful slide templates.

  • beamer_poster_template: WIP

  • ColourBlindSwatches.txt: A custom colourblind friendly palate, with swatches in various colours ordered from light to dark.

XDM Tutorial for FHI-aims

Theory, usage, and three tutorials showcasing the Exchange-hole Dipole Moment (XDM) dispersion correction in FHI-aims. The tutorials cover the use of XDM for modelling molecular dimers, periodic systems, and show how to fit and use XDM for any functional/basis combination not already included in the defaults.
